It is expected in the coming update that Apple may introduce Rich Conversation Services, to enhance text, higher quality images, and video messaging not just in iPhone-to-iPhone conversation but in iPhone-to-Android too. It may add cross-platform emoji reactions, real-time typing indicators, and read receipts

Al integrated Siri

In iOS 18, Apple is expected to enhance Siri with the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) to transform it into a more powerful generative virtual assistant. LLMs are the fundamentals of all chatbots, that can generate content based on the huge amount of data fed to it, which will allow Siri to automate tasks and answer complex questions.

Al integration in Apps

Apple is expected to introduce run-on-device Al integration in its apps like Apple Music with autogenerated playlists, Pages, and Keynote with Al writing assistant and slide desk creation.

Apps update for iPhones and iPads

There are new app updates expected in this update with Safari coming up with a new look and an intelligent search option that will use on-device Al to offer a summary of the web page.

Apple Maps, Calendar, Notes, and Calculator are also going to get significant updates with iPads to get an in-built calculator app.

Home Screen Customization

Apple may introduce a home screen customization option, which is not available in ios till now. The speculations are about an option to create blank spaces, rows, and grids between apps on the home screen.
